First Plant Pathology Day hosted on the UCR campus

Graduate students of the PLPA Outreach Committee hosted the first-ever Plant Pathology Day on September 14th, 2018 on the UCR campus

The event, funded by an award from the American Phytopathological Society, brought together a total of 100 students from John W. North High School. Introductory talks from Dr. Alex Putman and Dr. Caroline Roper, tours of UCR’s facilities, a panel with a graduate student, and interactive experiments, exposed the students to the field of plant pathology and allowed them to better explore careers and opportunities in the STEM field.
