Three CNAS Scientists receive awards for their accomplishments

Three CNAS scientists recently received major recognition for their accomplishments.


Francisco Zaera, a professor of chemistry, received recognition from the Catalysis Science and Technology Division of the American Chemical Society for “Exceptional Achievements in Catalysis.”

Assistant professor Wei Liu in the Department of Earth Sciences, was awarded a Sloan Research Fellowship for his research, to study the relationship between the ocean and climate change and variability. The Sloan Research Fellowship is only awarded to 126 researchers annually.

Additionally, Professor Vyjayanthi Chari of Mathematics received the Simons Fellows from the Simons Foundation. The award will fund her project, Quantum Affine algebras and their connections with Cluster Algebras and Demazure Flags.
