Gregor Fussmann - McGill UniversityGregor Fussmann is the leading PI on the associated project “Ecology and evolution of parasite-host relationships in a real ecosystem” funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). He is a community and evolutionary ecologist with almost 20 years of experience working with aquatic laboratory model systems, theoretical models, and in the field. He is particularly interested in the feedback between ecological and rapid evolutionary change. He has contributed to important research that demonstrated the interplay of rapid evolution and ecological dynamics in the lab using plankton predator-prey systems. In collaboration with FIBR, he and the Canadian NSERC-funded team explore how parasitic worms affect the population dynamics and life histories of Trinidadian guppies and the stream communities they live in.
