On Saturday, November 18, 2017, the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences invites alumni and guests to campus for a series of special events, including a CNAS alumni BBQ at the Barn.

“Citrus Breeding: Powerful New Tools and Daunting New Challenges”
by Mikeal L. Roose, UCR Professor of Genetics
Following the presentation, we invite you to stay and enjoy BBQ, beer, wine, music and activities. Meet and mingle with CNAS deans, faculty, alumni and current students.

Admission is free, but RSVPs are required.
Parking is free in Lot 6.

Speaker Profile

Mikeal Roose

Mikeal L. Roose, Ph.D., is Professor of Genetics in the Department of Botany and Plant Sciences in CNAS. His research focuses on the development and implementation of improved methods for crop improvement, particularly for citrus and asparagus. This research uses a wide variety of techniques and ranges from genetic engineering to hybridization-selection and field trials of new varieties.
